advice needed for my future prospects

Hello all, i stumbled across this forum, so would like to ask you all for some advice. I am 32 years old and considering taking a Bsc in Geology this September, in the hope of becoming an engineering geologist of some description when i graduate. When i graduate i will be 35-36. Can anyone tell me, is it realistic (at this age) to even consider becoming employed as a geologist trainee of sorts? I have been an installation electrician for the past 11 years, mostly working on sites around London, so do have experience of engineering type environments. Is 36 an unusual age to begin in the geoengineer feild, is there prospects for me at this ripe old age?. Can anyone advise against or for this transition ? Any response is greatly appreciated, Thankyou
