Survey - In-situ monitoring and uncertainty in design

In-situ monitoring has the potential to change our understanding of in-service behavior of Civil Structures, allowing engineers to learn from past projects and improve the future of the industry. To make sure this technology unlocks safer and more sustainable infrastructure it must be engineers who drive its development, not data scientists. 

The University of Edinburgh is currently running a survey to understand perceptions of uncertainty in civil & geotechnical engineering and whether this could be reduced by monitoring existing structures.
