Dear colleagues and friends,

The Vietnamese Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (VSSMGE), the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT) and the National Taiwan Univ of Science and Technology (NTUST) is going to organize the one-day seminar on Numerical Analysis in Geotechnics (NAG2018), on 22nd March 2018, in Ho Chi Minh City. A half-day site visit to HCMC Urban Railway Construction Project – Line 1 (Ben Thanh-Suoi Tien Section) will be held on the next day, 23rd March 2017. This is the second time the international seminar NAG is organized in Vietnam. The first event NAG2015 was held on 20 August 2015 in Hanoi, with more than 120 attendees from seven countries and territories, including Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, Canada, France, China and Vietnam, see the attached summary.

The organization will be simplified: no printed proceeding. Both papers in formal format, i.e. following the seminar template, and/or PPT presentations are accepted. They will be published in a CDROM, not a hard-copy. This allows persons who can not manage to write a formal paper, but have a good idea to present, can join the seminar. The paper written in the formal format can however published in the Vietnamese Geotechnical Journal.
