    • Programme Manager R&D Replacement and Renovation of Hydraulic Structures
  • Deltares (and its predecessor GeoDelft), department of Soil and Structures : ( 01/02/2003 - 01/07/2018 )
    • Project Leader geotechnical engineering (amongst others, structural reinforcement of levees)
  • Deltares (and its predecessor GeoDelft), department of Soil and Structures : ( 01/02/2006 - 01/02/2015 )
    • Geotech Innovation Coordinator Europe (2006-2015)
  • University of Cambridge (UK), Department of Engineering, Geotechnical and Environmental Research Group : ( 01/02/2014 - 01/05/2014 )
    • Marie Curie Fellow (visiting researcher) in context of FP7-PEOPLE-IAPP project "MPM-DREDGE"

    • The aim of the MPM-DREDGE project is to develop, validate and demonstrate a numerical tool based on the Material Point Method (MPM) for the modelling and simulation of dredging applications. It is aimed to solve the numerical issues associated with large deformations and fluid pressures that occur in the interaction between soils and fluids. This effort will result in a joint computer code that combines earlier pioneering work of the two participants (University of Cambridge and Deltares) in the field of soil-fluid interaction. During the MPM-DREDGE project new methodologies will be developed, the advanced code is going to be intensively validated using benchmark problems and will be demonstrated for dredging applications. A major impact of the new software and of the joint effort of the participants through a collaboration in the MPM-DREDGE project is expected as expressed by the dredging industry.
