Sylvie is a Professional Engineer with 25 years’ experience, who has gained recognition for her ability to efficiently manage complex geotechnical subjects within large multi-disciplinary projects. Sylvie has significant geotechnical experience in foundations, soil improvement and reinforcement, retaining structures, slopes stability, landslides, large excavations, and underground works. She is proficient in the design of a broad range of geotechnical structures, ranging from simple footings to tunnels, large port infrastructure, large LNG tank foundations, wind farm and foundations for onshore and offshore structures which require strong knowledge of soil structure interaction fundamentals.
Sylvie is a team leader in the geotechnical service group and has been acting Geotechnical Service Group Manager for the WA Operating Centre for several short periods. As a team leader she is responsible for co-ordinating the activities of a team of 6 to 10 engineers. Sylvie is also committed to sharing her knowledge, being involved in training sessions internally and external to GHD. She publishes papers on a regular basis and is a regular presenter at conferences.
