- Peat is a highly organic soil formed by the decaying of plants and minerals. It has a low bearing capacity, high moisture content, and highly spongy. That's why construction over peatland is a very challenging task confronted by the last several decades. I am currently working on the geotechnical problems associated with the construction of a highway over peat.
