Responsible for the geotechnical design of maritime works, foundation works, earthworks both in Italy and abroad.
Attended technical meetings with Client and / or Contractor and/or Design Checkers finalized to: final presentation of the project, determine works schedule during construction or plan design activities during the intial design stages.
Assistance to the Resident Engineer and the Contractor on specific geotechnical issues occurred during construction. Interpreted geotechnical monitoring data collected during the works activities, adjusted the construction phases according to the monitoring results to minimize the difference with project predictions.
Coordinated other members of the design group providing the general guidelines in order to finalize the geotechnical design. Reviewed technical reports, drawings and specifications.
Highlights includes:
Responsible for the geotechnical design of quay walls structures on soft soil, designed deep foundation, performed drivability analyses of steel pipe piles through GRLWeap software, dynamic analyses of piled structures in high seismic areas;
On site activity for construction supervision in particular related to the geotechnical aspects of the project;
Always involved in projects dealing with soil improvement through the jet-grouting tecnique for tunnels, foundations, infrastructures, deep excavations below the water table;
Responsible for the geotechnical design of highways, geotechnical design of bridges foundations, geotechnical characterization of the fundation soil and construction material, local soil improvement using lime stabilization for re-use in the construction of embankments;
Junior staff mentoring and supervision.
