Mr. Harrison has specialized in geotechnical engineering and engineering geology for underground projects throughout the Midwest area and beyond for over 40 years and has developed design parameters and design recommendations for many tunnel and flood management projects and related control structures. His experience includes geotechnical investigations and analysis for tunnels constructed in both soil and rock; preparation of Geotechnical Data Reports (GDR) and Geotechnical Baseline Reports (GBR); soil and rock dynamic properties; design of retention systems; design of initial support systems; design of tunnel liners; design and specification of geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring; soil and rock laboratory testing; construction and post construction monitoring and field testing programs. His technical expertise includes a thorough knowledge of geotechnical engineering, tunneling methods, slope stability analysis, earth retaining structures, soil nailing and reinforced earth, ground improvement methods, groundwater control methods, soil and rock instrumentation, river and waterfront protection, lateral load analysis, settlement and subsidence analysis, in-situ pressuremeter testing and foundation design.
