  • Thurber Engineering Ltd. : ( 03/06/2019 - 29/07/2021 )
    • Geotechnical Engineer

    • My role involved a mixture of field work, analysis/design and project coordination. My typical field duties included site investigation, construction inspection, instrumentation monitoring and QA/QC. I regularly coordinated subcontractors, liaised with clients and worked alongside other technical and construction professionals. My project experience ranged from land development, roads/highways, infrastructure, railways and buildings. In addition to geotechnical tasks, I have also supported Thurber's Environmental and Materials practices.

      Notable Projects:
      - The Foothills at Burke Mountain
      - Coquitlam Transfer Station
      - Highway 1 Widening (216 to 264 Street)
      - Highway 7 Widening (266 to 287 Street)
      - Highway 91/17 Upgrade Project
      - Kicking Horse Canyon Project: Phase 4

      Junior 1 (P1) and Junior 2 (P2)
  • The University of British Columbia : ( 01/01/2019 - 30/04/2019 )
    • Pipeline Engineering Research Assistant

    • I worked on geotechnical pipeline engineering research and laboratory testing at the UBC Pipeline Integrity Institute under Dr. Sadana Gamage. My tasks included triaxial sample preparation, equipment maintenance and equipment dismantling.
  • WSP Canada Inc. : ( 07/05/2018 - 30/08/2018 )
    • Geotechnical Engineering Co-op Student

    • This role allowed me to take on new challenges and demonstrate my technical versatility. I was primarily field based and have worked on both infrastructure and buildings projects. Furthermore, I was given the chance to take on increased responsibility by independently conducting rock coring, vibration monitoring and concrete testing programs. These tasks provided me with excellent learning opportunities as I needed to learn to use new equipment and get certified in conducting concrete field tests.

      Notable Projects:
      - Annacis Island Wastewater Treatment Plant Phase 5 Expansion
      - Vancouver Centre II
      - Vancouver Post Office Redevelopment
  • Stantec Consulting Ltd. : ( 08/05/2017 - 15/12/2017 )
    • Geotechnical Engineering Co-op Student

    • I was primarily a field and lab based employee. Initially I performed full time Quality Assurance (QA) construction monitoring for the installation of over 250 vibro-replacement stone columns. I also gained exposure to auger drilling, sonic drilling, standard penetration testing (SPT) and cone penetration testing (CPT) in various projects. Furthermore, I reviewed compaction and inspected foundations using a soil probe and nuclear densometer. I was also the designated lab technician for a period of time; testing for moisture content, fines content (passing 200), grain size analysis (sieve & hydrometer) and Atterberg limits.

      Notable Projects:
      - South Fraser Transmission Relocation (GMTT)
      - Surrey Light Rail Transit
      - Capital Regional District Wastewater Treatment
  • Golder Associates Ltd. : ( 09/05/2016 - 31/08/2016 )
    • Geotechnical Engineering Co-op Student

    • I was a part of the Consolidated Geotechnical Group. Getting exposure to geotechnical earthquake engineering, I tabulated data to extract seismic ground motion values. The results of my data processing resulted in the updating of seismic hazard maps. Furthermore, a part of my work involved data extraction and compilation to produce charts and figures for project deliverables. I have also had exposure to the permitting process; preparing a permit package for a geotechnical investigation in municipality right of way. My experience in the laboratory involved performing sieve analysis tests. I also assisted in specimen preparation of soil and concrete samples for various tests. Complimenting my lab and office work, I have had field experience in site reconnaissance and test pit sampling. After my work term, I was retained as a Golder Campus Representative at UBC.

      Notable Projects:
      - Annacis Island Wastewater Treatment Plant Outfall
      - LNG Canada Marine Terminal
      - GVS&DD Network Seismic Hazard Analysis
