Professional with more than 20 years of experience in geotechnics area, with significant participation in geological-geotechnical studies developed in national and foreign projects. His experience includes the scheduling, supervision and interpretation of surveys, characterization and creation of geotechnical models, numerical modeling, and geotechnical support reporting during construction of projects.
His participation as a Geotechnical Engineer and Head of Geotechnics Department is remarkable. As such, he has acted in different stages of Engineering, Construction and Operation of several projects associated with water reservoirs and tailings, for example: Pampa Pabellón Tailings Dam, Laguna Seca Tailings Dam, Las Tórtolas Tailings Dam, El Torito Tailings Dam, Project Caserones Tailings Deposit and Sand Stockpile, Curuglú Tailings Dam (Mexico), Project La Colosa Tailings Dam (Colombia), Andaychagua Tailings Dam (Peru), Mahr-Túnel Tailings Dam (Peru), Quellaveco Tailings Dam (Peru), Convento Viejo’s Water Reservoir, Las Palmas, Petorca, Los Angeles Water Reservoir Projects, Cobbs-Creek Water Reservoir (Virginia County, US) as a member of the review committee.
He has also participated as a Project Manager, Head of Geotechnics Department or Geotechnical Engineer in Geotechnical studies for several industrial projects, mining infrastructure and civil works. One of most remarkable of these is project Metro-Merval (Basic and Detailed Engineering), where he participated in ground surveys, liquefaction analysis, modeling, design and geotechnical support during the construction of 5 km tunnel, located on sands and under groundwater level, in a high seismicity area.
In addition, since 2002, he is a works as a professor from Universidad de Santiago de Chile, delivering lectures on Soil Mechanics II for Civil Engineers and previously as associate professor from Universidad de Chile of Geotechnics discipline for Civil Engineers.
