Designing Phase I geotechnical/geo-environmental desk studies to produce factual and interpretive reports using data and information from internet searches, liasing with local authorities, the Environment Agency, geological information extracted from the British Geological Survey and reviewing historical maps from ‘Groundsure’. Field work included walkover surveys, supervising Phase II site investigation; determination extent of contamination throughout hazardous landfill sites, determining nature and extent of dissolution features and assessing of slope stability.
Supervision of dynamic probing, Cable Percussive drilling, in situ CPT and SPT and rotary drilling along with logging machine excavated trial pits, boreholes and driven in samples in accordance with BS 5930: 1990+A2:2010 and BS EN ISO 14688-1:2002/14688-2:2004; construction and subsequent monitoring of soakaway tests in accordance with BRE 365, falling and rising head tests, gas and groundwater monitoring and sampling.
