  • Bedrock.engineer : ( 01/10/2024 - Present )
    • Founder

    • Bedrock.engineer develops open-source tools and services for subsurface data integration and visualization.

Our Python library bedrock-ge transforms ground investigation data from industry-specific formats like AGS or GEF into modern geospatial databases, enabling:
      • 3D visualization in web mapping and GIS tools
      • Browser-based data sharing and visualization through web applications
      • Integration with BIM and parametric design workflows
      • Custom analysis using the Python scientific ecosystem
      • Freedom from expensive proprietary software ecosystems

We help organisations modernize their geotechnical data workflows through consulting and custom development.
  • Arup : ( 01/09/2020 - 01/09/2024 )
    • Geotechnical engineer and computational designer

    • I started working at Arup in Madrid, Spain as a geotechnical engineer. Besides classic geotechnical engineering work, I also worked a lot on improving existing and writing new Python scripts to automate geotechnical engineering processes.
Besides that, projects like the facade design of the Santiago Bernabéu Real Madrid stadium inspired me to teach myself how to work with the parametric design software Rhino/Grasshopper. In Madrid I applied these Grasshopper skills on structural engineering, airport layout optimization and evaculation simulation projects.
Only when I moved to Hong Kong in October 2023 did I start using Grasshopper to automate geotechnical engineering processes, which I did until september 2024, after which I returned to the Netherlands to start Bedrock.engineer.
