M.Sc. in Exploration of Solid Minerals and obtained a profound experience nearly 33 years as
Geologist and Material/Pavement Engineer. I worked as Senior Geologist for more than 10 years in various mineral exploration and development projects. Besides that, I have comprehensive experience for about nearly 11 years as a Material Engineer in primary road construction projects.
I was worked as Material /Geotechnical Engineer for about seven years with DRAGADOS J & P JV (Spain /Cyprus) Contractors on three main highway rehabilitation projects: Addis- Jimma, Addis-Modjo-Awassa, and Tarmaber Tunnel-Kombolcha. My major tasks for these projects include: carrying out routine material tests required to ensure the qualities of all construction materials, conducting tests on the partly/fully completed works for quality assurance and approval, reviewing of the pavement design, supervising the works for compliance with the specification requirements, performing concrete mix design for structure works and asphalt mix designs for asphalt wearing course, and monitoring the production of hot mix asphalt concrete, bitumen emulsion, and cement concrete.
I worked in the construction supervision as Material /Geotechnical Engineer for nearly six years on Butajira-Hossana Road Upgrading Project; on Dera-Mechara Road Upgrading Project and Gedo – Nekempte Road Upgrading Project, Contract 1: Gedo Bako. since October 2006 to April 2011 and highly engaged in the review and verification of the pavement design of the projects.
I have also experience and knowledge in geotechnical where I involved with subgrade materials studies, assessment of existing pavement structures in respect of the subgrade materials, studying slope stabilities and identifying land slide prone areas, identification of subsurface drainage problems, and foundation investigation for different structures and prepare factual report for more than 10 years (2013-2025).
I have a good exposure to computers and can operate with different application programming software ( NOVO SPT, GEO5 and SLIDE soft wear ).
