A Passionate teacher and researcher in the field of Geotechnical Engineering. My areas of research include: Engineering Behaviour of Fine-grained soils, Alternate Building materials and sustainability. Through concerted efforts for more than a decade have developed innovative method of using conventional stabilisers (cement and lime) in combination for optimising the stabiliser needed for preparation of Compressed Stabilised Earth Blocks and Stabilised Rammed Earth Walls. This also has shown to have a flexibility of using soils of wider gradation as available in nature, thereby eliminating the need for blending soil with sand in the preparation of CSEBs or in rammed earth construction to make them suitable for the earthen construction works and has a lot of practical significance. Through innovative laboratory studies, for the first time, has brought the significant advantages of using enzymatic stabilisation in preparation of alternate building products, and also have used it in practical construction of residential buildings using enzyme stabilised rammed earth walls. Have developed alternate building products using industrial and agricultural by-products, which would lead to sustenance of construction industry in particular and society at large.
