My duties include but not limited to:
1. Leading the research and study of soil to evaluate its suitability for foundations. Investigating and assessing construction sites, conducting lab tests, creating designs for structures, supervising construction, writing and presenting reports.
2. Planning and reviewing the geotechnical design structures for roads, bridges, culverts, embankments, water drainage canals, dam, dykes and other construction projects;
3. Reviewing and identifying issues and potential technical solutions for detail designs of water storage and flood control structures;
4. Supervising the Contractor in the undertakings of soil investigations;
5. Defining and implementing preliminary light geotechnical surveys;
6. Reviewing results and analysis of the geotechnical surveys being carried out for detailed design of water storage and flood control structures;
7. Reviewing the materials and works specifications for different water storage structures;
8. Coordinating with structural Engineers in the design of dams and other hydraulic structures;
9. Approving the final Geotechnical detailed design report for all hydraulic structures to be constructed;
10. Performing geotechnical analysis and study to assess construction site condition.
11. Planning and supervising geotechnical exploration effectively.
12. Developing proposals and determining cost and schedule for investigations.
