Working in the field of Engineering Seismology, Earthquake Engineering and Seismic instrumentation, for hydro projects. Setup of Strong Motion Network for monitoring of Dams, data Handling, interpretation and report preparastion, Ground Motion Prediction Equation developemnt from strong Motion time history of Himalayan earthquakes. Works related to statutory clearances from nodal agencies regarding seismic aspects of big hydroprojects
Presently working as Group Senior Manager, Geophysics at NHPC. Have done M.Tech in App. Geophysics from IIT-Roorkee with gold medal for best dissertation. Also have qualified NPTEL MATLAB programming for numerical computation. Previously worked at Department of Civil Engineering, IIT-Kanpur as Senior Project Associate and at Department of Civil Engineering, IET-Lucknow as Project Fellow.
Started service at NHPC at Dibang MPP in Arunachal Pradesh and was involved in hydrological data analysis. From there was posted in Parbati-II HEP, Himachal Pradesh and was involved in instrumentation for powerhouse backslope stabilization of the project.
Presently posted at NHPC CO and looking after site specific seismic design parameter studies related issues for all NHPC/JV projects, preparation of the documents as per NCSDP guidelines and their clearances from NCSDP. Coordinating and looking after the functioning and upkeep of one of its kind Real Time Seismic Data Center set up for recording SMA data from 22 running power stations spanning the entire Himalayas from J&K to Manipur. Also nodal officer for geophysical group looking after working of Integrated Technology Center setup at NHPC CO. Worked in a R&D project on Development of Himalayan specific Attenuation relationship utilizing SMA data from NHPC network in collaboration with DEQ-IITR. Dealing with all PFR/DPR and post construction seismological issues pertaining to all NHPC/JV projects. Involved in clearances of issues pertaining to seismological matters of hydroprojects of NHPC.
Involved in various technical writings for Conferences, newspapers, magazines and journals as a part of corporate CSR initiative to familiarize the common public on myths and facts associated with hydro project development and earthquake hazards. Published/presented more than 20 technical papers/presentations in different national/international conferences/ workshops/training etc.
