- I lead AMSE, a trade association representing manufacturers/suppliers of MSE (mechanically stabilized earth) retaining systems. AMSE's mission is to advance the use of mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) retaining structures, engineered and supplied through a single source of responsibility. We champion using best practices in MSE design and construction, and we advocate for development of and adherence to specifications which ensure value, performance, reliability and long-term safety. AMSE works with Federal, State and local DOTs, consultants, contractors and others to guide them toward well-designed, correctly constructed MSE structures.
