    • The Integrated Transport Center provides an effective transport system that contributes to the economic growth, quality of life, and environmental sustainability of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. In line with its vision, ITC works on the regulation, planning, and development of an efficient and well-integrated transport system that serves the public interest by enhancing mobility and delivering safe, secure, and environmentally responsible public transport in Abu Dhabi. Therefore, my responsibilities geotechnical inputs for different public transport modes in Abu Dhabi which are being planned and developed in response to the unprecedented urban expansion and population growth of the Emirate. These include Bus, Ferries, Metro, LRT, and other modes of public transport in Abu Dhabi. • Provide input required during the planning and design development stage for the Geotechnical design related to public transport (PT) infrastructures; such as review preliminary engineering designs for Metro, LRT, and Regional Rail.
      • Interfacing with, guiding/directing on-call consultants concerning concept & preliminary designs/studies of rail multi-model station and related infrastructures.
      • Carry out all the activities related to the project geotechnical and geophysical studies, the select construction material, pavement design, soil treatment, and reports submitted by the consultant during the study and design stage.
      • Analysis information and evaluating results to choose the best solution. Make decisions and solve problems related to soil profile conditions and treatments
      • Check Specification to verify appropriate selection material and construction methods
      • Participate in resolving matters such as works procedures, complaints, and construction problems related to soil- structures interaction.
      • Participate in investigating damage, or delays at construction sites, due to soil problems. Ensure that proper procedure been carried out
      • Participating in evaluating Justification of claims and change orders related to geotechnical and Material
      • Assist in technical evaluation bid submission to verify their proposal the technical requirement evaluation of contractors AND Participate in the review and negotiation of variations orders and estimated costs during project implementation stage as appropriate.

      ADNOC/COWI is providing Project Management Consultant (PMC) service for the Client. Upper Zakum is located approximately 55 nautical miles northwest of Abu Dhabi city, UAE. The project involves the construction of four artificial islands within Zakum Oilfield in the Arabian Gulf. The project involves the creation of artificial islands, each island to hold mooring and loading facilities and protected by rock and concrete shore protection. Further infrastructure facilities within the Islands.

      Responsibilities

      • Coordinate all geotechnical activities in development works; prepare/review of the particular specification for geotechnical works.
      • Interfacing with, guiding directing EPC contractor concerning detailed design and construction of islands (reclamation, ground improvements, revetments, breakwaters, Quay walls, beaches & jetties)
      • Assessment of barrow areas, dredging, suitability of fill material, fill stability, stage construction, managing silt deposits, ground improvement methods/equipment & performance monitoring.
      • Review design brief for the earthworks ground improvement works, and other related geotechnical design.
      • Evaluating consultant/contractor’s capabilities (technical) at the tender stage.
      • Review drawings (design/shop & as build drawings) and monitoring contractor’s activities at the site. Conducting/coordinating progress meetings. Progress monitoring and reporting.

      • Managing geotechnical database using gINT and GIS software. Carry out independent AQ/QC checks, site audits, monitoring reclamation works, quay walls, and other coastal/marine structures and construction activities. Also reviewing test results and preparation of reports. Ensuring that all work activities, construction methods, and quality of work are carried out according to the project technical specifications and approved method statements

The developments includes, dredging & reclamation, quay wall, rock revetments, land and marine pilling for mooring and jetties & beaches. Further infrastructure works such as roads, tunnels, bridges and other services.
      Responsibilities
      • Coordinate all the geotechnical activities in Palm Deira development works; preparation of particular specification for geotechnical works, design brief for the earth works ground improvement contractors, reviewing contractors design (static & Dynamic), reviewing.
