Mr. Stefano Rignanese is a civil engineer and has a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Alma Mater Studiorum, University of Bologna, Italy (Grade: 110/110 cum laude).
During his Master, Stefano spent one year studying in Valencia, Spain, at Universidad Politecnica de Valencia (UPV) after being awarded with an Erasmus scholarship. He also won a scholarship to spend six months as a visiting student in San Diego, USA, at University of California San Diego (UCSD), working on his final thesis.
He joined Officine Maccaferri in 2012 as Junior Engineer in the Head Quarter in Italy, where he has achieved complete expertise in Maccaferri solutions involving several engineering sectors: from geotechnical to hydraulic and from civil to structural engineering. Mr. Rignanese was promoted to Technical Manager of Maccaferri de Mexico S.A. de C.V. located in Queretaro (Mexico), where he spent 4 years and oversaw all the technical and commercial proposals. In January 2018 he moved to USA and became Technical Marketing Manager for Maccaferri North America, located in Rockville, Maryland. Additionally, in 2020 and 2021, he won back to back the Four Under 40 Young Professional Awards, the IECA (International Erosion Control Association) award that recognizes Four Outstanding Professionals Under 40* in stormwater and erosion and/or sediment control projects, programs, or IECA support that demonstrates excellence in natural resource conservation and environmental protection. In Q4 of 2021 he moved back to Italy and he is currently a Business Developer for Officine Maccaferri S.p.A. working for the Corporate organization. In February 2022 he won the Emerging Leader Award that recognizes outstanding young professionals under 40 years old that demonstrates excellence in natural resource conservation and environmental protection.
