    • Here I am designated to control the quality of works for the construction of Yaound√©-Douala express highway road following contract number 00068/M/MIMAP/CCPM-TR/2014. The task to be verified here are:
      - I control the quality of sub grade construction by doing in-situ and laboratory proctor and CBR test, other identification
      test depending on the nature of environment;
      - I verify the quality of Asphalts Concrete in the laboratory by doing the Penetration test, viscosity test and temperature
      test;
      - For already constructed structures, I use sclerometer to see if the resistance of the structural elements like beams and
      pillars are as per what is needed in the contract otherwise concrete formulations will be requested;
      - If the elements are beneath earth surface like pile foundation, I make sure infrared radiation is used for the verification
      of cracks;
      - For slopes, I mostly verified stabilization base on the cohesion of the soil and frictional angles when undisturbed samples
      are collected to the laboratory;
      - I confirmed deflection of pavement using Benkelman beam.

    • I supervised the construction of bridges, culverts, micro dams, building construction within the vicinity of Ndop plane. For the technical specifications to be respected, control was done in the following ways:
      - During earth works, I extracted soil sample using samplers and mechanical auger to the laboratory for verification of bearing capacity at the specified depth;
      - Each time I come across soil with low resistance, I improved the soil. The depth of soil improvement was done base on the bulb intensity of stress generated by the footing or foundation designed;
      - I supervised the verification of leveling for earth works and setting out with the use of dumping level, water level and spirit level;
      - During casting of lean concrete, I ensured that the thickness, dosage of lean concrete on ground level was controlled before the casting of foundation footing;
      - During construction of concrete structures beneath the soil or ground level, I verified materials in the following ways: ensuring that form work for the concrete structures at foundation are smooth and hard enough to resist concrete casting, tensile stress for steel verified in the laboratory, concrete crushing for compressive strength done 28 days after each time I collect sample to the laboratory during mixing of concrete;
      - Sclerometer was used for already constructed structures to see if it attains the resistance specified in the contract document;
      - I controlled the mandrel of steel diameter and anchorage during mounting of steel rebar;
      - A similar thing was done for the construction of concrete superstructures (concrete above the soil level;
      - I controlled wooden materials base on the availability of knots , direction of grains or fibers, fiber saturation point to control the degree of shrinkage and swelling of wood including for the construction of rafters, purlines, door and window frames, etc;
      - For water supply scheme, I checked materials like pressure in pipes for supply and laying of pipes, pipe thickness, pipe line depth and sizes of pipes where controlled. I also controlled different in altitudes.
      - I controlled the resistance of stone and concrete catchment, inspection chambers, and stand taps as per specification in contract documents.
      For every task of work, after confirmation of qualities, the quantities were also verified in terms of percentage evaluation for payment.

    • I was assigned to design three water supply scheme in Oku Sub-Division, North West Region of Cameroon. Base on the technical specifications for the design of water supply scheme, I proceeded with the following steps:
      - I started by collecting surveying data (coordinate points) in the field with the use of theodolite and GPs for georeferences;
      - I later on collected water and soil sample to the lab for laboratory test to know if it is drinkable or not;
      - The surveying data collected permitted me to determine my altitudes following the contours obtained from COVADISC
      software ;
      - Pipe network plan was drawn base on the contours and other features available on the map like houses, streams etc;
      - Following the growth rate and initial number of population that was given to me by the council the volume of tank were
      obtained;
      - I later on design the pipes based on head lost due to gravity and friction;
      - The final design enabled me to come out with technical specification;
      - Finally prepared tender files as per specifications of my design.
