Cyclic Triaxial testing

As my load cell showed an initial value of around 300N, zeroing was done. After zeroing, a negative value (-5 N) is read. Can I proceed with a negative value for further calibration? Or else how to fix this issue? It is given in the manual that we should not proceed with a negative value or tension load.

If you zeroed the load when there was physically zero load, you should be ok. You can apply a load back to zero and calibrate from there, if you are planning to be in the compression stage always. Also, 5 N maybe an insignificant value for your load cell?

Yes Sir. I did zeroing when there was no load physically. Thanks for your reply.
