Dam on active fault

I would like to know that is it feasible to construct a dam on an active fault and which considerations should be regarded in design of the dam in such condition? I'm looking for any reference on this topic.

Everything is possible. Engineers have been making mistakes since the beginning of the profession. Reference: the Chi-Chi earthquake (China), and the destruction of a dam there. Find the picture on the net

No project is without risk. If you want to take a stab a quantifying it, a good starting point is: Bray, Jonathan D. [1990]

You have to be very careful when you shoose a dam site located near the active fault. I prefer to relocate the site. The reservoir induced earthquake is one concern and active fault may cause earthquake which impact the dam structures is another issue.
