excavation and stability problems
hi everybody i'm civil engineer(almost a one in 4months) for my ending training i have to make a research about a subject that concern the stability of the soil under an existant building when we try to make an excavation for a new one just beside it. so what ever you might know about this issue: -discription of this phenomena with different kinds of soil. -how can we avoid it:depth most likely for example or something else... -what are the temporary retaining means that we can use... -....and what ever can be useful. i'm really in deed need for any kind of information please help me and thanks. @+
