Faculty positions available in the Zachry Department of Civil Engineering at Texas A&M University to start in Fall 2009 Applications are invited for three tenured/tenure-track faculty positions at various ranks. Candidates should have a strong commitment to teaching excellence at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. All of our faculty are expected to develop and sustain an externally funded research program and to publish in leading scholarly journals. Applicants are required to have an earned doctorate in civil engineering or a closely related field. Applicants should submit a detailed CV and a brief statement of teaching and research interests to the chair of the respective search committee. * Geotechnical Engineering The department is seeking candidates in all areas of geotechnical engineering. This is a broad search that seeks to complement the current expertise of our geotechnical engineering faculty or strengthen existing focus areas. The position is expected to be filled at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. Search Committee Chair: Dr. Giovanna Biscontin. * Construction Engineering / Design and Construction Integration The department is seeking candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas: (1) construction engineering and/or sustainability with emphasis on heavy civil infrastructure, (2) risk and decision making, (3) building information modeling (BIM), and (4) design and construction integration with emphasis on large infrastructure systems. The position is expected to be filled at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level. Exceptional senior candidates may be considered for an endowed position. Search Committee Chair: Dr. Mary Beth Hueste. * Water Resources Engineering The department is seeking candidates in all areas of hydrology and hydraulics; candidates with expertise in groundwater, water quality modeling, water systems planning and management, and/or sustainability related to water resources are especially encouraged to apply.
