Job Objectives: Prepare a site based terrain stability hazard assessment and identify solutions to prevent further landslides for the Ptarmigan site. Location of work: Field work - Ptarrmigan Forest, Area 431ha, Loch Lomond, Scotland Study Objectives: The objective of this proposed study is to fully assess and prepare a terrain stability hazard assessment and risk analysis for the site, identifying mitigation solutions for implementation during the felling operation and also post harvesting, to prevent landslides. The study will address the following key issues; 1. Characterise the existing landslide hazard, terrain and terrain stability conditions, in areas within, adjacent to or connected to the project area. 2. Evaluate potential or existing effects of the project on terrain stability. 3. Determine the landslide hazard and potential effects of the project on the identified elements at risk provided by the FSC. 4. Recommend site-specific actions to mitigate and /or manage the landslide risk resulting from the project. 5. If the mitigation measures proposed relies on the establishment of native woodland this must be identified and appropriate silvicultural practices discussed. This list is for guidance purposes at this stage of the tendering process. If other factors are highlighted these will be added prior to fee tender process.
