Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer – OTTAWA SPL Consultants Limited (SPL) is a multidisciplinary consulting engineering firm specializing in geotechnical, environmental, materials inspection and testing, hydrogeology, concrete technology, instrumentation and monitoring and building science. SPL (Ottawa) is currently seeking an Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in the Ottawa office. Additional information can be obtained from our website at http://www.splconsultants.ca Qualifications: • University graduate with a minimum of a Bachelors Degree (preferably with Masters or Ph.D. degree) in civil (geotechnical) or geological, engineering • Professional designation, licensed with the Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO) or equivalent • 5+ years related experience in geotechnical engineering and field investigations • Strong workplace safety practices • The ideal candidate must be mobile and willing to work on a combination of field and office work, as travel will be required • Excellent computer skills, proficiency with common geotechnical and other software is required • Valid driver's license • Well organized, interested in technical and personal advancement while working under the mentorship and guidance of senior engineers, self initiator, able to carry out assignments with minimal supervision • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, strong report writing skills and verbal communication in English are essential • Enthusiastic, resourceful, organized, and detail oriented. You demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and have the ability to communicate effectively and to proactively respond to time-sensitive issues.
