Research vacancies in unsaturated soil mechanics in Europe

Dear Colleagues I am writing to inform that a number of doctoral and post-doctoral vacancies are now available at various European universities within the project MUSE (Mechanics of Unsaturated Soils for Engineering). This project is a "Marie Curie" Research Training Network funded by the European Commission, which is due to start on the 1st December 2004 and will last for a period of 4 years. The Network will involve 6 academic members and 5 industrial associated partners across Europe and will undertake an extensive programme of cooperative research about the engineering behaviour of unsaturated soils ranging from laboratory testing to numerical/constitutive modelling and field applications. An important characteristic of the project is to provide training to early stage researchers, who will work alongside experienced researchers at each participating institution and will take part in a programme of secondments and visits across the Network. For further details please visit http://muse.dur.ac.uk . A list of the first vacancies available within the MUSE Network is appended to this message. I invite those interested in applying to download the full advertising document from the website http://muse.dur.ac.uk (under "Job Opportunities") where it will be possible to find further details of each vacancy including scientific objectives, eligibility rules, financial information, required qualifications/experience and contact details for application/enquiries.
