How to model moving loads to simulate train-induced vibrations

Bentley Systems
Published: 31 March 2021

This following demonstration video intends to illustrate the use of movement functions to simulate a train passing through a rail track over an embankment.

When using PLAXIS 3D Ultimate license, it is possible to assign movement functions to a given load to simulate load movements along the model (e.g. train moving over an embankment).

At the end of the video, the results and impact of train-induced vibrations are shown in an animation.
