This webinar introduces basic definitions and applications of Risk Assessment to Geotechnical Engineering. The main objective of the webinar is to provide a sound overview of the principles, methods and implications of framing Geotechnical Engineering practice within a Quantitative Risk Assessment.
The proposed approach is based on common practice established within the technical committee TC-304 Engineering Practice of Risk Assessment & Management of the ISSMGE. The webinar includes the homogenization of technical terms of Risk, a discussion on a quantitative framework reference of Risk, the corresponding Risk estimation methods, and presents illustrative case studies of various degrees of complexity.
