File: TC 218 Workshop Highlights Reinforced Fill Structures at ICSMGE 2026
The TC 218 Workshop on Reinforced Fill Structures, organized in collaboration with IGS TC-Reinforcements, was successfully held as a special session during the 21st International Conference on Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ICSMGE 2026) in Vienna.
The two-hour workshop featured presentations from selected authors and was organized around two key themes: marginal or alternative fills and bridge abutments. Presentations were coordinated by the respective subcommittee leaders, providing participants with insights into current research and practical applications in reinforced fill structures.
A compiled set of workshop presentations has been prepared as a consolidated record of the session and serves as a valuable publication documenting the contributions.
