The countdown is on! In less than two weeks, the 10th African Young Geotechnical Engineers Conference (AYGEC 2026) will bring the young geotechnical community together in Lagos, Nigeria, from 2629 April 2026.

Hosted at the University of Lagos, AYGEC 2026 will be a unique opportunity for young engineers, researchers, and practitioners to exchange ideas, present innovative work, build international connections, and strengthen the future of geotechnical engineering across Africa and beyond.

Under the theme Innovations and Best Practices in Geotechnical Engineering for African Development, the conference will highlight the energy, creativity, and technical commitment of the next generation of geotechnical professionals.

For the ISSMGE Young Members Presidential Group (YMPG), AYGEC 2026 is more than a conference. It is a powerful platform for connection, collaboration, and shared growth among young member groups around the world.
