Description
The feasibility of a site for the construction of hydroelectric plants depends on three aspects: the topography, the hydrological and geological - geotechnical conditions. This article demonstrates the process and results of the geomechanical characterization of a selected site for the construction of a hydroelectric plant in the ignimbrite of Nayar. After entering into the geological condition of the site, states the procedure to define the geomechanical properties of heterogeneous materials, demonstrating the importance of recognizing and generating a collection of field information on the geotechnical characteristics of rock masses in which the rock intact is not representative of the estate as a whole, data that will be of importance in the information generated on stability and treatments to be affixed to the excavations. It also integrates the review of certain conditions from the standpoint of geological and geotechnical could affect the project.
