Dear colleagues,
On behalf of the organizing committee I am pleased to announce that the 2014 Purdue Geotechnical Society Workshop and the 12th G.A. Leonards Lecture will take place on Saturday, April 26, 2014.
The theme for this year's workshop is "ENERGY GEOTECHNICS", which aligns with the expertise of our Leonards Lecturer, Professor Lyesse Laloui of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Lausanne (EPFL). Professor Laloui’s contributions to the mechanics of unsaturated soils and shales, the thermo-mechanics of clays and the technology of thermo-active foundations, are at the forefront of geoengineering research. We are thrilled that he has accepted our invitation to give the Leonards Lecture.
Attached is a call for presentations at the Workshop (no proceedings papers are required) with more information. We need a response to this call by February 28, 2013.
We are working on putting together a great program, and hope you will choose to contribute to it.
We look forward to having you at Purdue for the 12th edition of our geotechnical Spring event.
