(Science Advisory Board for Contaminated Sites in British Columbia) Workshop & Conference on Contaminated Sites. The event will take place on September 25th and 26th.

The SABCS is a non-profit Society registered under the Societies Act of British Columbia. It aims to advance the scientific understanding and management of contaminated sites in British Columbia. The SABCS organizes an annual two-day workshop and conference for professionals interested in contaminated sites to promote collaboration with academic, government, and industry scientists. The emphasis is on practical research, development, and technology applications to contaminated sites.

Workshop & Conference Information

September 25th (Workshop) & September 26th (Conference)

The workshop will focus on on-site risk assessment and restoration and new and emerging contaminants of interest. It provides a platform for intermediate and senior-level professionals to discuss management strategies.

The conference is expected to draw over 100 participants from contaminated sites consultancies, environmental analytical labs, and regulatory bodies. It will address contaminated site investigation, remediation, risk assessment, risk management, and regulation. Attendees can make contacts and advance their knowledge of contaminated sites. 

About SABCS

The Science Advisory Board for Contaminated Sites in British Columbia (SABCS) was established in 2003 as a non-profit foundation under the Societies Act of British Columbia. Its mission is to develop independent science-based tools that benefit professionals working in contaminated site management in British Columbia. Specific objectives include providing strategic advice, reviewing scientific and technical information, advising on emerging trends, and establishing science-based guidance and tools.
