It is a function of the Soil elastic properties: Modulus of Elasticity, Es, and Poisson’s Ratio, νs.
so you should check the behaviour of the soil under dynamic loading.

Good morning
the company I work for, specializing in geotechnical and environmental surveys and engineering services, has received a request for a quotation for the execution of 40 cores and SPT hole tests and sampling at an industrial site in Assiut ( Egypt), the cores have a maximum depth of 40 m but most of them are 20 m deep. I would like some information on local drilling companies available to cooperate with us for the requested investigation. Thanking you in advance

I am interested in starting an academic project on landfill methane monitoring and modeling. If I want to carry out a surface monitoring (maybe using flux chamber), then what should ideally be the range (in ppm by volume) of my methane and carbon di-oxide analyser? In other words how much maximum methane gas concentration (in ppm) is expected to come out of landfill surface? I am from India and the conditions are absolutely suitable for anaerobic digestion (warm, humid and the municipal solid waste constitute approx 50% organics).
